Cloud Security Engineer (AWS)

What you will do

• Lead complex cloud and hybrid-cloud security engineering, sustainment, and optimization for CBP.
• Review secure cloud designs and direct baseline, monitoring, and configuration-management improvements.
• Resolve high-risk security configuration and operational issues.
• Conduct architecture, tooling, configuration, process, readiness, and gap assessments across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Develop implementation roadmaps, strategies, metrics, dashboards, schedules, risk registers, and technical recommendations.
• Communicate with government leadership and provide technical leadership, training, documentation, and incident analysis.

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of relevant cloud security, cybersecurity engineering, systems engineering, or cloud-operations experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in cybersecurity modernization, Zero Trust, security architecture, or security engineering.
• Advanced experience with secure cloud and hybrid architectures, security baselines, continuous monitoring, security-tool administration, audits, and operational improvement.
• Working knowledge of OMB M-22-09, CISA's Zero Trust Maturity Model, NIST SP 800-207, Executive Order 14028, and federal Zero Trust guidance.
• Strong facilitation, technical writing, presentation, stakeholder coordination, documentation, and government communication skills.
• Relevant AWS certifications are specified by assignment: SysOps Administrator and Security Specialty, plus DevOps Engineer Professional for SecDevOps or Advanced Networking Specialty for network-focused work.
