Principal Enterprise Security Engineer

Location: Remote; offices listed in Seattle and San Francisco. hirify.global can hire in any country where it has a legal entity.

Base salary in the United States: $184,500–$240,875 in Zone C, $199,800–$260,850 in Zone B, or $221,400–$289,050 in Zone A, plus possible benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.

What you will do

• Define and maintain the end-to-end enterprise security architecture blueprint across endpoints, identity, networks, and data.
• Lead architectural reviews for initiatives such as AI adoption, zero-trust modernization, and vendor onboarding.
• Establish architectural controls, paved paths, and security maturity assessments.
• Review platform and service architectures and provide risk-based recommendations to executives and engineering teams.
• Automate control deployment and drift detection through infrastructure-as-code and policy-as-code solutions.
• Collaborate across Corporate Security, Product Security, engineering, product, and architecture teams while mentoring security practitioners.

Requirements

• 10+ years of cybersecurity experience.
• 5+ years working in principal- or lead-level security architecture roles.
• Deep expertise in cloud security architecture, including AWS and GCP.
• Experience with SaaS ecosystems such as Google Workspace, Slack, and Okta.
• Strong understanding of identity and access management, endpoint security, data protection, network segmentation, and zero-trust architecture.
• Excellent communication skills for explaining complex security concepts to executives and engineers.
