What you will do

  • Develop and execute multi-year national and subnational government affairs strategies aligned with business priorities, patient needs, and market access objectives.
  • Monitor political, legislative, regulatory, reimbursement, procurement, fiscal, and public-health developments and prepare scenarios, recommendations, and executive briefings.
  • Build ethical relationships with government officials, legislators, regulators, payers, healthcare organizations, patient groups, industry associations, and other policy stakeholders.
  • Shape company policy positions, prepare policy briefs and consultation responses, build coalitions, and represent the organization in external forums.
  • Partner with Commercial, Market Access, Regulatory Affairs, Legal, Compliance, Health Economics, Medical Affairs, Communications, Supply Chain, and Finance.
  • Manage policy risks, advocacy programs, budgets, external advisers, compliance activities, and capability-building initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in public policy, political science, law, economics, international relations, healthcare administration, business, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • Typically 8–12 years of progressive experience in government affairs, public policy, healthcare, MedTech, life sciences, government, an industry association, or a related regulated sector.
  • Experience developing advocacy strategies, navigating legislative or regulatory processes, and engaging senior government and industry stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare systems and policies affecting medical technology, including regulation, reimbursement, procurement, public investment, innovation, and patient access.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive briefings, policy papers, negotiation, and external representation.
  • Professional fluency in English and Spanish, the principal language of the market.
