Director, Business Affairs

Location: United States – New York, NY. Hybrid role subject to workplace attendance and in-office requirements.

Base salary: $135,000–$155,000 USD per year.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and develop the Business Affairs team while balancing strategic direction with hands-on production support.
• Support broadcast, social, digital, and experiential productions by managing budgets, timelines, client and vendor calls, and production-specific processes.
• Review scripts, ideas, and content for network standards, claim substantiation, FTC and CARU requirements, and other regulatory risks.
• Advise creative and production teams on AI, likeness rights, voice cloning, platform terms of service, insurance, and production risks.
• Review and negotiate client, production company, director, photographer, post-production vendor, talent, music, and other production agreements.
• Oversee talent payments, union residuals, session reporting, SAG-AFTRA claims and audits, production templates, and agency process improvements.

Requirements

• 10–15 years of Business Affairs experience, preferably in a creative advertising agency.
• Experience managing, mentoring, and developing a team.
• Extensive knowledge of SAG-AFTRA and non-union talent contracts.
• Deep knowledge of music, stock footage, and intellectual property licensing for media.
• Strong understanding of television production, post-production, experiential production, and AICP and AICE bid forms.
• Exceptional written, negotiation, and verbal communication skills with a proactive, collaborative, hands-on approach.
