Technology Governance Consultant

Location: Charlotte, NC, United States — hybrid. Duration: 12-month contract.

What you will do

• Build and operationalize governance, operating models, and execution frameworks for a technology change and investment portfolio function.
• Develop and maintain an integrated change radar covering technology initiatives, resiliency activities, data migrations, deployments, and other major schedules.
• Consolidate multiple schedules and information sources to identify conflicts, dependencies, and technology-related risks.
• Establish repeatable operating processes and routines for a newly developing function.
• Analyze portfolio and technology data and create executive-level presentations, reporting, and decision-support materials.
• Partner with technology and business functions to establish governance, influence stakeholders, and support strategy and solution delivery.

Requirements

• Experience building and operationalizing governance, operating, or execution frameworks in large, complex organizations.
• Strong background in technology governance, portfolio management, strategy execution, or technology project and program environments.
• Knowledge of technology change management frameworks, risk management, technology dependencies, and portfolio analysis.
• Experience establishing repeatable processes in evolving or ambiguous environments and working independently with minimal oversight.
• Strong executive communication, reporting, written communication, and presentation skills.
• Hands-on familiarity with generative AI, including prompting and tools such as Copilot, plus strong skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services or another large, highly complex organization.
• Background in technology strategy, technology governance, portfolio management, command center, or technology risk functions.
• Technical or engineering experience with an understanding of technology environments.
• Experience with JIRA, Confluence, business intelligence, reporting tools, solution delivery, or organizational effectiveness initiatives.
