TL;DR
Technical Specialist I - Immunohistochemistry / Pathology Imaging - Canada (Histology/Pathology Diagnostics): Supporting sales, installations, demonstrations, training, and technical troubleshooting for histology instrumentation and consumables across southern and eastern Ontario with an accent on immunohistochemistry applications, pathology imaging, and customer support. Focus on optimizing instruments, resolving complex application issues, coordinating field installations, and expanding consumables adoption across clinical and research accounts.

Location: Greater Toronto Area, Canada; remote/field position covering southern and eastern Ontario. The role includes onsite customer demonstrations, installations, training, and up to 75% travel.

What you will do

  • Support revenue, profitability, and market-share growth for immunohistochemistry and pathology imaging products.
  • Coordinate equipment installations, site readiness, reagent orders, and post-installation follow-up.
  • Provide pre- and post-sales technical support, troubleshooting, customer demonstrations, presentations, training, and product evaluations.
  • Resolve complex application issues, support technical RFP responses, and lead regional technical investigations.
  • Drive consumables adoption, market analysis, competitive intelligence, account planning, and lead generation.
  • Use Salesforce and DOMO analytics to monitor sales trends, maintain records, support forecasting, and build relationships with pathologists, laboratory managers, technologists, and researchers.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree preferred or equivalent work experience, with 1–3 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Understanding of the pathology laboratory marketplace or a related discipline, with the ability to solve technical problems independently.
  • Experience with Salesforce.com or another CRM platform.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong time management, leadership, mentorship, work ethic, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Fluent English required; French is a plus. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel overnight when required.

Nice to have

  • 1–3 years of histology laboratory experience in a clinical, research, or industrial setting.
  • Experience operating, optimizing, and supporting histology instrumentation and related products.
