TL;DR
Jr. Product Engineer (Semiconductor ICs): Supporting new product introduction for high-performance optical and analog/mixed-signal semiconductor ICs from early development through production transfer with an accent on design for testability, characterization, ATE correlation, and yield optimization. Focus on analyzing PVT data, developing test programs, investigating quality issues, and improving manufacturing readiness under the guidance of senior engineers.

Location: Burlington, Canada; hybrid with office attendance Monday through Thursday

Salary: CAD 75,000–84,000 per year

What you will do

  • Support new product introduction from product concept through release and transfer to full-volume manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with project, design, marketing, validation, test, characterization, quality, reliability, applications, and operations teams.
  • Support Design for Testability and Design for Manufacturability requirements and assist with ATE test program development, verification, and optimization.
  • Plan and execute wafer-level and bench characterization, analyze PVT data, perform ATE-to-bench correlation, and support yield modeling.
  • Contribute to DOE studies, test-time reduction, yield-loss analysis, product validation, and reliability qualification.
  • Assist with failure analysis, root-cause investigations, CAPA activities, manufacturing quality monitoring, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or a related field; an MS is a plus.
  • At least 2 years of experience in semiconductor product engineering, test engineering, or design engineering; relevant internship or co-op experience is considered.
  • Basic knowledge of statistical theory and data analysis tools such as Excel or JMP.
  • Foundational understanding of semiconductor physics and analog/mixed-signal IC design principles.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with eagerness to learn in a fast-paced engineering environment.
  • Ability to work in the Burlington office Monday through Thursday under the hybrid arrangement.

Nice to have

  • Exposure to DFM, DFT, and ATE test methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Advantest, Teradyne, or other high-speed digital ATE platforms and bench test equipment.
  • Awareness of semiconductor qualification and reliability methods such as JEDEC, HTOL, ESD, and Latch-up.
