Sr Manufacturing Engineer, Paint and TPS

What you will do

• Own the application of paint and thermal protection system materials from design release through installation on the Terran R launch vehicle.
• Define efficient, high-quality build flows that can scale with production demand.
• Lead first-build activities, design integration, assembly sequencing, mBOM development, work-order creation, and specification authoring.
• Support production personnel with responsive issue resolution and provide feedback to vehicle engineering teams.
• Develop and implement manufacturing capabilities that improve process quality, throughput, and capacity.
• Build relationships with Engineering, Build Reliability, Supply Chain, and external partners while mentoring other engineers and team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in aeronautical, mechanical, or another engineering discipline and 4+ years of progressive related experience.
• Experience selecting, acquiring, and activating capital equipment for manufacturing workcenters and production scaling.
• Ability to define and implement new processes from scratch in collaboration with technicians, engineers, and external partners.
• Expert knowledge of at least two relevant processes, including adhesive bonding, soft goods manufacturing, coating, machining, mechanical fastening and torquing, trim and drill, composites manufacturing, critical lifting, or tool design and fabrication.
• Ability to prioritize and execute work in an ambiguous, high-pressure environment.

Nice to have

• Successful new product introduction experience with aerospace hardware or processes.
• Experience leading or mentoring engineering teams.
• Master’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
