Senior Manufacturing Engineer II - TPA (Aerospace)

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; based at hirify.global's headquarters

Base salary: $132,000–$198,000 USD annually. Total compensation including equity: $208,000–$255,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Develop new products and product revisions for Rutherford and Archimedes engines, with primary responsibility for Archimedes turbopump assembly.
• Design and implement production tooling, equipment, factory layouts, and manufacturing processes.
• Lead value stream mapping, method-of-manufacture planning, equipment selection, factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, and production commissioning.
• Document production and testing procedures, safety requirements, and supervisory signoffs.
• Partner with quality teams on containment, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
• Mentor team members and contribute technical expertise to design reviews and manufacturing engineering standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, manufacturing engineering, or a similar discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in a heavy development manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of fluid mechanics and structural mechanics fundamentals.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes for aerospace materials.
• For U.S. office work, eligibility under ITAR regulations is required, such as U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, refugee or asylum status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.
• The role includes prolonged sitting, standing, walking, computer work, and occasional exposure to noise, dust, and fumes in production areas.

Nice to have

• Advanced engineering degree.
• Experience designing, testing, or developing turbopumps or similar turbomachinery.
• Experience leading design reviews and applying design-for-manufacture, test, and assembly principles.
• Knowledge of GD&T, inspection methods, capacity modeling, process mapping, Lean/Six Sigma, value stream mapping, 3D CAD, or tooling design.
