Manager, Software Engineering (MedTech)

Location: Marlborough, Massachusetts, United States

Annual base salary: $122,000–$203,300, plus bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Lead the software development team in daily development activities, project planning, scheduling, tracking, and execution.
• Manage project quality, risks, issues, dependencies, milestones, and deliverables across cross-functional program teams.
• Analyze test results and coordinate bug fixes with developers and engineers.
• Monitor system performance metrics and recommend improvements to capacity, reliability, scalability, and overall performance.
• Provide technical direction and collaborate with Electrical, Software, Systems, Design Assurance, Mechanical Engineers, and Project Managers.
• Coach direct reports, provide performance feedback, and build team cohesion and cross-discipline communication.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Embedded Systems, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of software development experience.
• At least 8 years of experience designing software products in FDA-regulated industries under IEC 62304 and ISO 14971 standards.
• Experience launching and maintaining embedded software products using C/C++.
• Experience with design inputs and outputs, traceability, risk analysis, Agile software development, and complex electromechanical systems.
• Experience with version control, requirements management, unit testing, and automated system- and integration-level testing tools.
