Sports Business Student Intern, Summer 2027 (Remote)

Location: Remote within the United States; requires some travel to New York City. New York City-based candidates may work on-site in the New York office.

What you will do

• Collaborate with the Sports Business desk on projects for a specific editorial vertical.
• Conduct interviews with subject-matter experts and newsmakers.
• Create first-person explainer videos on sports-business topics.
• Help curate and produce the weekly MoneyCall Sports Business newsletter.
• Research the industry daily to identify potential stories and develop story pitches.
• Participate in reporting, writing, editing, and projects with the video and data teams.

Requirements

• Undergraduate student, ideally in the junior or senior year; undergraduate and postgraduate students may apply.
• Ability to work 30–40 hours per week during the 12-week program.
• Deep knowledge of and passion for sports.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced newsroom where priorities can change quickly.
• Portfolio with at least five relevant samples demonstrating strong reporting skills.
• Resume, a 500–700-word application essay, and two recommendation letters are required.

Nice to have

• Previous newsroom internship experience.
• Demonstrated experience creating video.
