Senior Accountant (SaaS)

Location: 100% virtual anywhere in the United States; travel to orientation, industry events, company meetings, training, or other onsite activities may be required, up to 10%. The role may require hybrid in-office work when needed.

Annual base salary: $75,000–$100,000 USD, plus bonus, benefits, perks, and community gains.

What you will do

• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including journal entries for accruals, prepaid expenses, payroll, commissions, and other complex transactions.
• Prepare and review balance-sheet reconciliations, account analyses, variance analyses, supporting schedules, and management reports.
• Support SaaS subscription, implementation, and professional-services accounting, including ASC 606 revenue recognition, deferred revenue, contract assets, and unbilled receivables.
• Assist with order-to-cash activities, including contract review, billing, collections support, dispute resolution, and customer-account reconciliations.
• Record and analyze payroll, commissions, benefits, taxes, and other employee-related liabilities while resolving discrepancies between payroll systems and the general ledger.
• Prepare audit documentation, support tax and regulatory reporting, improve accounting workflows, and participate in financial-system implementations, integrations, testing, and upgrades.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent education and relevant experience.
• Progressive professional accounting experience, preferably in SaaS, software, technology, or a rapidly growing organization.
• Strong practical knowledge of U.S. GAAP, general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, financial reporting, variance analysis, and month-end close.
• Experience with revenue accounting, ASC 606, deferred revenue, contract assets, unbilled receivables, payroll accounting, audits, compliance, or tax-related accounting is preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with ERP or accounting platforms such as NetSuite, Dynamics 365 Business Central, Sage Intacct, or similar systems.
• Ability to work virtually from anywhere in the United States, work in-office on a hybrid basis when required, and travel up to 10%.
