Senior IS Specialist (Mainframe)

Location: Piracicaba, São Paulo, Brazil; on-site five days a week. Travel of up to 25% may be required.

What you will do

• Own incidents, service tasks, problem tickets, and optimization activities for the enterprise applications operations portfolio.
• Define and govern architecture for legacy mainframe applications, including integration patterns, data flows, security, resilience, scalability, performance, and lifecycle management.
• Develop modernization roadmaps balancing business continuity, technical debt reduction, platform currency, and integration with distributed and cloud-based solutions.
• Partner with business units and decision-makers on operations, incident resolution, process improvement, and technology-enabled business outcomes.
• Establish operating procedures, controls, service metrics, testing strategies, and continuous improvement practices.
• Provide technical direction for complex cross-functional applications and resolve high-impact issues across teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Systems, or a related field.
• Pre-advanced English proficiency in speaking and reading.
• Extensive experience in enterprise application architecture, development, support, and modernization.
• Demonstrated experience with legacy mainframe applications and enterprise technology environments.
• Experience defining or contributing to application and technology roadmaps.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.

Nice to have

• Experience leading large-scale application support and development initiatives.
• Experience integrating modernized mainframe applications with distributed or cloud-based solutions.
• Experience with GenAI-assisted development or support tools such as GitHub Copilot or automated agent workflows.
• Experience driving innovation, automation, monitoring, analytics, Lean, or continuous improvement initiatives.
• Experience in procurement, supply chain, or manufacturing environments.
