Principal FDE (AI)

What you will do

• Lead the technical direction of complex legacy system modernization initiatives from assessment through transition and implementation.
• Analyze applications, architectures, dependencies, databases and business logic to understand legacy environments.
• Define transition architectures and modernization strategies, including progressive legacy-system refactoring.
• Guide database modernization involving stored procedures and database-dependent application logic.
• Use AI tools for codebase analysis, reverse engineering, technical documentation and automated test generation.
• Own technical delivery end to end, support architecture and implementation decisions, and communicate progress, risks and dependencies to engineering and client stakeholders.

Requirements

• Experience leading system modernization projects in architecture or technical leadership roles.
• Strong experience planning transition architectures and modernization approaches for complex legacy environments.
• Hands-on experience refactoring legacy systems, including systems using database stored procedures.
• Knowledge of legacy Microsoft IE5 HTCs and DHTML architectures.
• Experience using AI tools to generate technical documentation from existing codebases.
• Practical knowledge of reverse engineering, Spec-Driven Development and automated test generation; ability to own evolving technical missions end to end.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with Cursor, software profiling, architecture analysis or application intelligence tools such as CAST Imaging.
• Experience preparing project status reports and coordinating engineers while maintaining technical ownership.
• Experience serving as a client-facing technical interface.
