RF/Microwave Engineer I (RF/Microwave)

Location: Syracuse, New York, United States; onsite

Salary: $77,039–$128,399 per year, with a possible annual or quarterly bonus and potential shift premium.

What you will do

• Design and evaluate RF/microwave components, assemblies, layouts, test circuits, and new product concepts.
• Perform 3D simulations, design optimization, fabrication-tolerance analysis, and performance assessment against requirements.
• Support proposals, project estimation, schedules, technical reviews, customer presentations, and design releases.
• Develop test procedures and stations, reduce and analyze data, and correlate expected performance with test results.
• Support designs in production, including manufacturing reviews, MRB activities, customer reports, and qualification work.
• Collaborate with interns, technicians, test engineers, customers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams while providing technical guidance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on electromagnetic fields; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 0–3 years of relevant experience.
• Understanding of microwave theory and transmission-line concepts, with the ability to convert theory into manufacturable designs.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, HFSS, circuit simulation tools, Excel, PowerPoint, and MATLAB.
• Strong written and verbal communication, structured problem-solving, time management, multitasking, and collaboration skills.
• Must have a background that would permit the US Department of Defense to issue a Secret clearance when required; ITAR-related technical data access is restricted to US citizens and US permanent residents.
