Payments Data Scientist (Fintech)

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio, United States. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis.

Salary: $87,500–$139,250 annual base salary.

What you will do

• Transform complex payment and business data into insights, recommendations, and measurable value.
• Build, validate, and improve predictive models and data-driven products using machine learning, AI, and statistical modeling.
• Develop visualizations, dashboards, and reports for technical and nontechnical audiences.
• Prepare large datasets while maintaining data quality, integrity, and usability.
• Support model and data-product deployment, monitoring, documentation, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with business, technology, and data science teams to define use cases and deliver analytical solutions for strategic payment routing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in data science, statistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, economics, or a related quantitative field.
• Experience with data analysis, statistical methods, machine learning, and predictive modeling.
• Proficiency in Python, R, and SQL.
• Experience with large datasets and modern analytics tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, critical-thinking, and communication skills.
• Permanent United States work authorization is required; visa sponsorship, including future sponsorship for OPT holders, is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud-based data platforms.
• Knowledge of financial services, payments, or related industries.
