Strategic Finance Lead, AI & R&D

What you will do

• Partner with the CTO and R&D leadership on planning, forecasting, investment decisions, and strategic finance.
• Build an AI-assisted, driver-based economic model connecting usage and billing data across cloud, AI, and compute infrastructure.
• Develop AI spend strategies and identify opportunities to optimize infrastructure costs without slowing product velocity.
• Own R&D headcount capacity planning and automate workflows that identify forecast and hiring risks.
• Lead infrastructure and R&D investment cases from business case development through measurement of outcomes.
• Translate R&D performance into clear executive and board narratives and rebuild R&D finance around AI, automation, and Pigment.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience across strategic finance, FP&A, business operations, or a related field.
• Experience owning complex, ambiguous work end to end and driving recommendations into action.
• Strong data-informed modeling skills, including driver-based forecasts, investment cases, and capacity models.
• Hands-on experience analyzing cloud, compute, AI, or other usage-based technology costs.
• Experience partnering with Engineering, Product, Data, AI, or Infrastructure leaders.
• Applied AI fluency, including improving modeling or recurring workflows and validating AI-generated output.

Nice to have

• Experience with GCP, AWS, Pigment, or comparable financial planning and infrastructure systems.
• Experience working with rapidly scaling AI products and modern infrastructure.
