TL;DR
Production Manufacturing Engineer (Aerospace) (propulsion and fluid systems): Develop and transition manufacturing processes for aerospace assemblies from design and testing into full-rate production with an accent on manufacturability, quality, and production readiness. Focus on resolving manufacturing discrepancies, designing support equipment, authoring assembly instructions, and validating propulsion and fluid-system test capabilities.

What you will do

  • Develop, qualify, and refine manufacturing procedures and processes for components and module assemblies.
  • Lead transitions from development and testing into production, including production readiness reviews and full-rate manufacturing.
  • Resolve manufacturing discrepancies and non-conformances, create work instructions, and support root-cause corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with design engineering on manufacturability, drawings, process flows, technical documentation, and test specifications.
  • Identify tooling and work-center capability needs, design manufacturing support equipment, and establish production capabilities.
  • Oversee calibration and certification of fluid ground-support equipment and contribute to resource, schedule, and risk planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, aerospace, or a related engineering discipline.
  • At least five years of manufacturing engineering experience in a high-detail manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with instrumentation and data acquisition, such as SPICE, SQL, or National Instruments hardware.
  • Working knowledge of ISO, AS9100, quality control, engineering operations, and technical documentation.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, provide technical guidance, and deliver with minimal oversight.
  • Ability to work on-site in Englewood, Colorado.

Nice to have

  • Experience with AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
  • Propulsion or fluid-systems engineering experience in aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability systems.
  • Experience with mixed-pressure pneumatic testing and spacecraft or launch-vehicle integration.
  • Experience designing, manufacturing, and testing propulsion components such as thrusters, valves, tanks, feed systems, or environmental control units.
