Platform Support Specialist (Fintech)

Location: London, United Kingdom; mostly on-site. The role requires working on several UK public holidays, with time off in lieu.

What you will do

• Investigate complex platform issues using log analysis, data validation, API and FIX behaviour analysis, SQL, UNIX, and proprietary tools.
• Own escalated customer cases through resolution, distinguish customer misuse from platform defects, and validate customer-facing explanations.
• Coordinate P1, P2, and Code Red incidents, lead incident response when Tier 3 coverage is unavailable, and conduct post-incident reviews.
• Support market data, order type, configuration, and troubleshooting requests for business teams and third-party clients.
• Perform production, certification, and disaster recovery startup, shutdown, health checks, dashboard monitoring, and database health checks.
• Create runbooks and technical procedures, maintain technical notices, and mentor Tier 1 support colleagues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Two to five years of experience in securities-related or technical support.
• Knowledge of equity and derivatives products and experience supporting mission-critical market data systems.
• Familiarity with the FIX protocol and order lifecycle workflows.
• Proficiency with Linux and Windows, plus general SQL experience.
• Sound judgement when deciding whether to resolve or escalate issues, and willingness to verify AI-generated output before use in customer or production contexts.

Nice to have

• Experience eliminating the root cause of recurring incidents.
• Experience with AI assistants, Git workflows, operational scripting, or tooling.
• Knowledge of market data dissemination, multicast transmission, network and data centre terminology, and customer connectivity.
• Scripting or programming experience with SQL, C#, Java, or Python.
• Experience mentoring or coaching less experienced colleagues.
