Software Engineer, Networking (Features)

Location: Remote in Canada

Salary: $242,540–$302,840 CAD per year base salary

What you will do

• Develop hirify.global's open-source client code, backend services, and networking features.
• Design, build, test, and document core networking software components.
• Own product work from implementation and ideation through strategic decision-making.
• Build observable running services, participate in incident response, and handle customer support escalations.
• Improve the efficiency, scalability, stability, and security of networking systems.
• Collaborate with engineers, UX/UI designers, and product managers to shape networking capabilities.

Requirements

• Experience implementing application-layer networking concepts and distributed components, including proxies, connectors, and overlay routing.
• Deep knowledge of operating-system networking internals, socket programming, routing tables, and packet filtering primitives.
• Professional experience with Go.
• Experience designing and maintaining distributed systems, including concurrency, race conditions, memory management, synchronization, and scalability.
• Proficiency with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL and efficient SQL queries.
• Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration, ownership, and adaptability in a startup environment.
