What you will do

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot routers, Layer 2/3 switches, wireless access points, and related management applications.
• Administer and support DHCP and DNS services, circuit monitoring, IP addressing, and network equipment configurations.
• Monitor the organization’s computer network, investigate user-reported issues, and recommend resolutions.
• Create network diagrams, maintain infrastructure documentation and inventories, and prepare reports for IT management.
• Contribute to networking standards, disaster recovery practices, change management, and root cause analysis.
• Provide rotating first-level on-call support, including possible work outside regular hours, on weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

• Three years of data communications experience supporting secure LAN/WAN and wireless services.
• Direct experience configuring and supporting Cisco and Brocade equipment.
• Knowledge of switching, routing, wireless networking, Local and Metropolitan Ethernet, DHCP, and DNS.
• Familiarity with IP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, SNMP, Telnet, TFTP, FTP, SFLOW, NETFLOW, and WCCP protocols.
• Experience with cabling infrastructure, fiber optics, IP network numbering, network monitoring applications, and high-speed multi-homed ISP environments.
• Strong written, verbal, presentation, organizational, customer service, and troubleshooting skills; an associate’s degree and CCNA certification are preferred but not required.

Nice to have

• Experience with CiscoWorks, Brocade Network Advisor, Intermapper, DWDM, and Microsoft Visio.
• Associate’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification.
