What you will do

• Own and mature the enterprise AI governance strategy, operating model, policies, standards, decision rights, and risk-based approval paths.
• Oversee risk assessments and lifecycle controls for generative AI, machine learning, large language models, agentic AI, data, privacy, cybersecurity, fairness, explainability, and regulatory compliance.
• Lead the technology risk management framework across cloud adoption, cybersecurity, data governance, third-party technology, digital transformation, and operational resilience.
• Establish testing, validation, monitoring, issue management, remediation, metrics, dashboards, and escalation processes for AI and technology risks.
• Advise executives, governance committees, regulators, auditors, and Board-level stakeholders while coordinating with Legal, Compliance, Privacy, Information Security, Internal Audit, Model Risk, and Data Governance.
• Build and lead a high-performing team covering AI governance, technology risk, controls, and emerging risks.

Requirements

• 10 or more years of progressive leadership experience in technology risk, cybersecurity risk, operational risk, model risk, internal audit, governance, risk and compliance, or related disciplines.
• Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, or materially advancing enterprise AI governance and responsible AI programs.
• Deep expertise in technology risk management, control design and testing, cloud risk, cyber risk, data governance, third-party risk, operational resilience, issue management, and regulatory engagement.
• Hands-on knowledge of AI lifecycle risks and controls, including generative AI, machine learning, large language models, privacy, transparency, explainability, human oversight, and compliance.
• Experience advising executive committees, regulators, auditors, and Board-level stakeholders, with strong judgment, influence, communication, and executive presence.
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, cybersecurity, risk management, business, data science, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services, wealth management, banking, insurance, or another highly regulated industry.
• Experience with the NIST AI Risk Management Framework, AI assurance, model validation, automated controls monitoring, or governance technologies.
• Advanced degree or certifications such as CRISC, CISA, CISSP, CGEIT, or CISM.
