Night Shift Analytical Lab Technician (NMR)

Location: Scarborough, Ontario, Canada; onsite night shift from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM, Monday night through Saturday morning

Salary: CAD 65,000–75,000 base salary per year, depending on experience

What you will do

• Perform chemical and physical analyses of routine and non-routine raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
• Operate analytical instruments including NMR, GC, GC/MS, HPLC, IC, UV-Vis, NIR, and KF systems.
• Document, review, and transfer analytical data, calculations, and observations while monitoring trends and data validity.
• Identify out-of-specification and out-of-trend results and support laboratory investigations with the manager.
• Maintain, calibrate, validate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and analytical methods.
• Manage laboratory supplies, dispose of chemical waste safely, and support quality and process-improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Analytical Chemistry or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment analyzing samples with NMR, KF, GC, HPLC, IC, and GC-MS.
• Knowledge of chemical safety, proper waste disposal, GLP, and maintaining a clean and safe workspace.
• Hands-on experience preparing samples with complex matrices and working with multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to compile and present data, collaborate across functions, and work independently with strong attention to detail.
• Willingness to work with potentially hazardous chemistries and perform the required overnight schedule onsite.

Nice to have

• Experience with KF titration, GC/GC-MS, IC/IC-MS, LC, FTIR, NMR, or ICPMS instrument operation and maintenance.
• Semiconductor analytical method development experience, including detection limits, accuracy, linearity, precision, and robustness.
• Experience with instrument software controls, chemical or gas manufacturing, and cross-functional project leadership.
