TL;DR
Reliability and Process Engineering Specialist (Biopharma): Improving manufacturing equipment reliability, production processes, maintenance strategies, and spare-parts optimization in a GMP-regulated biopharmaceutical environment with an accent on predictive maintenance, reliability analytics, and continuous improvement. Focus on investigating deviations, applying RCM tools such as FMEA, RCA, and SPC, supporting CAPA activities, and maintaining audit-ready technical governance.

Location: Toronto, ON, Canada; onsite

Salary range: 76,200.00–121,100.00 CAD annually, including target bonus.

What you will do

  • Maintain overall reliability of plant equipment, utilities, and facilities.
  • Develop and optimize maintenance strategies, preventive-maintenance task lists, and long-term asset plans.
  • Use predictive-maintenance technologies, data analytics, CMMS, and digital work orders to improve reliability and cost effectiveness.
  • Optimize spare-parts inventory through criticality and stocking analysis.
  • Investigate deviations and maintenance issues, perform root-cause analysis, and support CAPA planning and closure.
  • Support technical governance, regulatory inspections, audit readiness, GMP documentation, risk assessments, and cross-functional review boards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering and at least 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, maintenance, or engineering environments.
  • At least 1 year of experience working with internal and contracted maintenance personnel in the pharmaceutical or related industry.
  • Experience with regulatory inspections, GMP environments, and pharmaceutical or biological manufacturing standards.
  • Strong investigation, problem-solving, communication, organization, and technical writing skills.
  • Familiarity with CMMS and reliability tools including RCM, FMEA, RCA, and SPC.
  • Ability to work onsite in Toronto, ON.

Nice to have

  • Six Sigma or equivalent root-cause-analysis training.
  • In-depth knowledge of predictive technologies.
