Applications Engineer Senior (Machine Vision)

Location: Montreal, Canada

Salary: $101,040–$151,040 annual, plus a target performance-based cash incentive equal to 12% of base pay.

What you will do

• Act as an experienced vision technical resource and initial escalation point for internal and external stakeholders.
• Analyze product performance and usability challenges in machine vision and fixed industrial scanning applications.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, and product management to define solutions, validate fixes, and influence future releases.
• Support strategic customer projects, application deployments, product testing, and on-site deployments when required.
• Maintain vision labs and remote testing infrastructure, and design effective system demonstrations for internal and external events.
• Provide Tier 3 technical support, develop technical training, and document solution deployment processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience with fixed industrial scanning and/or machine vision solutions.
• Hands-on electrical engineering experience with schematics, wiring, and hand tools.
• Hands-on experience with machine vision, computer vision, or image processing, including cameras, lensing, lighting, filters, and focal lengths.
• Experience with Windows operating systems, Linux toolsets, and scripting languages.
• General understanding of mechanical, electrical, and industrial automation systems.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of manufacturing and/or logistics processes and environments.
• Certified Vision Professional – Basic certification.
