Senior Associate Scientist (Viral Vaccines)

Location: On-premise in Pearl River, New York, United States. Candidates must have permanent authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Annual base salary: $68,600–$114,300, plus eligibility for a 7.5% bonus target.

What you will do

• Generate, optimize, characterize, and distribute viral reagents for pre-clinical vaccine research, including RSV, EBV, and HCMV materials.
• Maintain cell lines, process red blood cells, prepare samples, and perform molecular, virology, biochemical, and immune-response assays.
• Generate plasmid constructs for RNA and reverse genetic virus stocks and support RNA vaccine optimization.
• Develop and integrate immunoassays, support high-throughput testing, and collaborate on assay technology selection, quality criteria, and validation.
• Ensure compliance with SOP, cGLP, and cGMP requirements, including instrument qualifications and method validations.
• Troubleshoot experimental issues, coordinate reagent purchasing and inventories, train analysts, and collaborate with internal groups and external vendors.

Requirements

• BA/BS with at least 3 years of experience, or MBA/MS with any years of experience.
• Hands-on experience with cell culture and cell-based assays.
• Knowledge of quantitative PCR, molecular biology, western blotting, biochemical assays, and tissue processing.
• Experience with experimental design, result interpretation, data analysis software, and common productivity tools.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work under moderate supervision.
• Permanent U.S. work authorization is required; U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with mammalian cell culture, flow cytometry, and cell population analysis.
• Experience in drug discovery and maintaining or manipulating cell lines.
• Experience using generative AI tools such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot to support problem solving.
• Strong problem-solving, collaboration, organization, and time-management skills.
