Credit Controller (12-Month Fixed-Term Contract) - Kent

Salary: £30,000–£33,000 per annum

What you will do

• Manage a portfolio of customer accounts and collect outstanding invoices within agreed payment terms.
• Chase overdue debt by email and telephone while maintaining strong customer relationships.
• Reduce aged debt through accurate account notes, action plans, and regular debtor reviews.
• Investigate and resolve complex account queries, escalating issues when required.
• Process credit note requests, reconcile customer accounts, and analyse financial data to identify discrepancies.
• Identify payment risks, contribute to monthly cash collection targets, and support the finance function during peak periods.

Requirements

• Previous experience in credit control or accounts receivable, ideally with 2–3 years of credit control experience.
• Experience managing high-volume customer accounts and debt collection activities.
• Strong reconciliation, analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Intermediate Excel skills, including experience working with large datasets.
• Excellent organisation, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities.
