TL;DR
Senior Hedge Accountant (6m Contract) (FX/Fintech): Leading multi-currency consolidation, foreign currency accounting, and hedge accounting across an international fintech with an accent on IAS 21, IFRS 9, and FX derivative portfolios. Focus on managing complex intercompany and treasury activities, strengthening controls and systems, and driving finance transformation across a multi-entity environment.
Location: London, UK; hybrid work with 4 days in the office and 1 day working from home
Salary: £500–£600 per day, outside IR35
Company
is recruiting for a leading international fintech operating across complex, multi-entity and multi-currency financial environments.
What you will do
- Lead monthly multi-currency consolidation and close activities across international entities.
- Manage foreign exchange accounting, CTA, remeasurement and intercompany transactions under IAS 21.
- Oversee intercompany eliminations, equity movements and CTA reconciliations.
- Work with Treasury on FX exposure management, hedging strategies and derivative accounting for forwards, swaps and options.
- Apply IFRS 9 hedge accounting to balance sheet, cash flow and net investment hedging activities.
- Improve finance and treasury processes, systems and controls across NetSuite and Treasury Management System environments.
Requirements
- Fully qualified accountant with ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent qualification.
- 7+ years of relevant experience in financial consolidation, FX accounting and/or treasury.
- Strong practical knowledge of IAS 21 and IFRS 9, especially hedge accounting.
- Experience consolidating international, multi-currency entities and accounting for FX hedges and derivatives.
- Understanding of treasury risk management, foreign currency exposures and intercompany funding.
- Immediate availability or a maximum two-week notice period, with strong stakeholder management skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with NetSuite and Treasury Management Systems.
- Background in international financial services, fintech, banking or a Big 4 environment.
