Payroll Officer (Manufacturing)

Location: Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, UK; 1 day working from home

Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum

Manufacturing business seeking a finance professional to support payroll administration and financial accounting.

What you will do

• Own and complete weekly and monthly payrolls, including management of the Time & Attendance system.
• Process payroll queries and maintain payroll accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare general ledger journals, monthly headcount reporting, and intercompany cost recharges.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Assist with quarterly VAT returns, Corporation Tax expenditure analysis, annual stocktakes, and internal and external audits.
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll and finance processes.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a payroll, finance, accounting, or similar role.
• AAT qualification or active study toward ACCA, CIMA, or a similar qualification is desirable.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft packages.
• Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build effective internal relationships.
• High level of confidentiality, numerical accuracy, organisation, initiative, and attention to detail.
