Director, Engineering - Corporate Giving

Location: Remote, United States

Salary: $140,000–$190,000 USD annually, plus a 15% annual bonus. Compensation applies to full-time employees in the United States.

What you will do

• Build and lead the Corporate Giving engineering organization from an early-stage team into a fully staffed, high-performing domain.
• Recruit, develop, and retain engineers and managers while establishing a culture of ownership, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Own the technical direction and Deed product roadmap across employee giving, grants, legacy disbursements, and a new standalone disbursement service.
• Lead migration from the legacy disbursement platform while maintaining continuity for enterprise clients and supporting more than $500M in annual disbursements.
• Ensure SOC 2 compliance, audit readiness, delivery metrics, architectural quality, and coordination with adjacent engineering teams.
• Partner with Product, Customer Success, enterprise clients, InfoSec, the VP of Engineering, and peer Directors on roadmap and engineering standards.

Requirements

• 12+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 5+ years in engineering leadership and Director-level or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated experience building and scaling multi-team engineering organizations from an early stage.
• Experience owning or co-owning a product roadmap and evaluating architecture, non-functional requirements, and technical proposals.
• Familiarity with TypeScript, Node, AWS serverless infrastructure, and modern cloud-native architectures.
• Experience with SOC 2, PCI-DSS, or equivalent compliance programs, plus strong communication with enterprise clients, senior leaders, and engineers.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without current or future employment sponsorship.
