Accountant I

Location: Remote anywhere within the continental United States; St. Louis, Missouri is highly preferred.

Salary: $23.23–$39.61 per hour

What you will do

• Support cash accounting for Medicaid health plans, including deposits, cash applications, collections, and forecasting.
• Process payment and void requests and respond to payment-related inquiries.
• Prepare financial reports and support month-end close activities.
• Evaluate variances, account balances, assets, liabilities, and capital.
• Maintain accurate financial records and comply with applicable policies and standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 0–2 years of accounting experience, preferably in healthcare.
• Ability to work remotely from within the continental United States.

Nice to have

• Intermediate or advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, and XLOOKUP.
