Information Technology Industrial Placement 2027 (AI)

Location: Newcastle Innovation Centre, Newcastle; Weybridge, Surrey; and potentially the London Plant in West Thurrock, Essex. Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK for the full placement without requiring sponsorship.

Salary: £31,500 per year.

What you will do

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify and define high-impact technology opportunities.
• Understand business challenges and translate them into technical requirements.
• Architect and build intelligent production solutions using appropriate data engineering tools.
• Apply Agentic AI and explore autonomous AI solutions in practical business contexts.
• Take ownership of real projects and deliver them to completion.

Requirements

• Currently studying for or holding a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Analytics, or another quantitative field.
• Experimental and iterative approach to developing new solutions in ambiguous environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work with non-technical stakeholders and translate business challenges into technical requirements.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.
• Own right to work in the UK for at least 37.5 hours per week from 5 July 2027 through 13 June 2028; visa sponsorship is not provided.
