Aerodynamics & Analysis Engineering Internship - Summer 2027 (Aerospace)

Location: Full-time, on-site in Los Angeles, California

Hourly rate: $33.00

Company

Space infrastructure company developing in-orbit pharmaceutical processing, reentry capsules, heat shields, satellite buses, and related launch and test systems.

What you will do

• Run Computational Fluid Dynamics simulations to analyze vehicle performance.
• Support wind tunnel testing campaigns and post-process test data.
• Collaborate with engineers to assess aerodynamic loads and thermal environments.
• Use simulation and test results to contribute to vehicle design improvements.

Requirements

• Must be actively enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program.
• Coursework in compressible fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, numerical methods, and programming with Python or MATLAB.
• Experience running CFD tools and using Linux-based systems.
• Programming experience in Python or MATLAB.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and qualify as a U.S. person for access to export-controlled technology.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree studies or completed graduate work in aerodynamics or numerical methods.
• Experience with CFD or DSMC.
• Familiarity with Tecplot and Pointwise.
• Prior aerodynamics or fluid mechanics project or club experience.
