Senior Propulsion Thermal Management 3D CFD Engineer

Location: Hybrid in Warren, Michigan; reporting to the Global HQ at least three times per week

What you will do

• Develop innovative 3D CFD simulations for electrification propulsion components.
• Build complex multiphase flow and thermal simulations for electric motors, drive units, battery cells, engines, and transmissions.
• Apply simulation capabilities to influence product design, manufacturing processes, and the reduction of hardware testing.
• Provide component-level and system-level design recommendations based on analysis results.
• Present findings to engineering peers and management, and provide technical support and mentoring.
• Benchmark new procedures, technologies, and software tools while contributing to Python or Java automation tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience with CFD simulations.
• Proven expertise in developing new CFD procedures.
• Familiarity or practical experience with vehicle propulsion system design, operation, or testing.
• Ability to report to the Warren, Michigan Global HQ at least three times per week under the hybrid work arrangement.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with coursework in heat transfer and fluid mechanics.
• At least 2 years of experience with STAR-CCM+ or Simerics-MP+ and propulsion-related CFD analysis.
• Experience with CFD optimization, test-to-model correlation, and advanced CFD visualization.
• Programming experience in Python, Java, or equivalent languages.
• Linux experience in distributed computing environments and knowledge of Siemens NX CAD modeling.
