TL;DR

Senior Systems Engineer (Aerospace): Supporting Air Force ISR and Special Operations modernization programs through requirements analysis, architecture evaluation, system testing, and technical baseline management with an accent on defense acquisition, system-level validation, and lifecycle engineering. Focus on conducting trade studies, managing technical and system interfaces, developing engineering documentation, and solving complex integration and compliance challenges across multi-stakeholder programs.

Location: Bedford / Hanscom AFB, Massachusetts, United States; limited travel as needed.

What you will do

Support the Foreign Military Sales Japan Program Office within the Air Force ISR and Special Operations portfolio.
Review program portfolios, engineering plans, system architectures, designs, and test results.
Develop and maintain requirements, technical baselines, engineering plans, management reports, and technical presentations.
Plan and conduct system-level testing, validations, functional configuration audits, physical configuration audits, and technical reviews.
Perform trade studies and proposal analyses covering performance, lifecycle cost, reliability, maintainability, schedule, risk, and technical feasibility.
Support requirements, architecture, integration, verification, validation, configuration, interface, technical data, and risk management processes.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 12 years of relevant experience, including at least five years in the Department of Defense; alternatively, 15 years of directly related experience, including at least eight years in the Department of Defense.
Active Secret security clearance required and must be maintained.
U.S. citizenship required.
Experience with systems engineering documentation, requirements development, CDRL reviews, system testing, validation, architecture, and technical baselines.
Knowledge of AF SEAM risk management, configuration and version control, interface management, and technical data management.
Strong communication, leadership, collaboration, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
