What you will do
- Provide guidance on customs classification, valuation, origin determination, and import/export compliance.
- Support vehicle launches, manufacturing expansion, market entry initiatives, and international logistics flows from a customs perspective.
- Identify and mitigate customs-related compliance, operational, and financial risks.
- Improve customs processes, governance, internal controls, policies, standards, and best practices.
- Support customs audits, compliance reviews, interactions with authorities, and duty optimization through free trade agreements and special procedures.
- Collaborate with customs brokers, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders while delivering customs training and monitoring regulatory developments.
Requirements
- Experience in customs, international trade, trade compliance, or customs operations.
- Knowledge of customs regulations, valuation, tariff classification, origin determination, and import/export requirements.
- Experience supporting international supply chains and cross-border operations.
- Experience working with customs authorities, brokers, and logistics service providers.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent English, written and spoken.
Nice to have
- Experience in the automotive industry or manufacturing operations.
- Experience with Authorized Economic Operator programmes, customs audits, or governmental reviews.
- Experience with multi-regional customs operations, free trade agreements, customs optimization, export controls, sanctions screening, or broader trade compliance programmes.
