TL;DR
IT Infrastructure Engineer (Windows, Active Directory & VMware): Designing, implementing, maintaining, and improving global Windows and Linux infrastructure supporting clinical research operations with an accent on virtualization, Active Directory, PKI, backup, and enterprise services. Focus on leading infrastructure projects, troubleshooting complex systems, executing upgrades, and optimizing performance across servers, storage, monitoring, and access-control platforms.
Location: Athens, Greece. Full-time employment based in Athens.

What you will do
- Design, implement, maintain, and improve Windows and Linux server infrastructure.
- Manage virtualization, storage, backup, monitoring, patch management, configuration management, and access-control platforms.
- Administer Windows Active Directory and PKI, and support enterprise applications, email, and business systems.
- Plan and execute operating-system patching, infrastructure upgrades, qualification, validation, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Lead small and medium-sized infrastructure projects and contribute to larger cross-domain initiatives with Network & Connectivity and Cloud & Modern Workplace teams.
- Maintain infrastructure inventories, technical documentation, procedures, system standards, warranties, and vendor coordination.
Requirements
- University degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Full professional proficiency in English, written and spoken.
- Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server and Active Directory, plus Windows and/or Linux server administration.
- Practical experience with virtualization, PKI, email/MTA technologies, backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Experience designing, implementing, and managing infrastructure projects, monitoring, patch management, and configuration management.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and maintain detailed technical documentation.
Nice to have
- Experience with VMware, Proxmox, Hyper-V, Microsoft Azure, hybrid infrastructure, Azure Arc, or Azure Update Manager.
- Experience with Zabbix, PowerShell, infrastructure automation, Microsoft Exchange, Sendmail, Postfix, Veeam, or similar technologies.
- Familiarity with ITIL, change management, qualification, validation processes, and relevant technical certifications.
