Python Backend Developer

Location: Multiple locations; hybrid/remote setup.

What you will do

• Identify and address scaling issues such as slow processing and missing asynchronous workflows.
• Analyse customer configurations and map employees, invoicing, and integrations to system equivalents for migration automation.
• Design and implement the self-service customer portal backend and REST APIs.
• Maintain and improve cloud infrastructure based on Kubernetes EKS and PostgreSQL RDS.
• Develop, optimize, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and related tools.
• Integrate third-party HR APIs, improve the transactional system, and collaborate with Product Owners, Customer Success, Operations, and engineering teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional Python experience working with complex codebases.
• Hands-on experience with Python web frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services, Kubernetes, and PostgreSQL.
• Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL query optimization.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or GitLab CI.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as pytest and a strong testing mindset.
• Experience taking projects from design to delivery, including architectural decision-making.
• Proactive, hands-on problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and collaborate within a team.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
