Specialist, Program Management (Defense Tech)

Salary: $92,000–$171,500 per year in the Greater New York City area

What you will do

• Manage a portfolio of programs and oversee successful execution, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
• Develop and execute project plans, schedules, budgets, and performance requirements across all program phases.
• Coordinate engineering, manufacturing, procurement, quality, and administrative teams.
• Identify and manage program risks, opportunities, issues, and solutions to complex problems.
• Monitor progress and report to internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead customer communication, proposal preparation, contract terms, and overall customer relationships.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree and 2 years of related experience.
• Alternatively, at least 8 years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, oral, written, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, milestone schedules, spreadsheets, and program reports.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance; security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.

Nice to have

• Program management experience in a Department of Defense or aerospace environment.
• Technical or engineering background.
• Knowledge of customer procurement processes and government funding approval.
• Experience working across business organizations and customer communities.
• Willingness to travel.
