Senior Software Engineer (Frontend, React/TypeScript)

Location: Remote across the EU; offices in Helsinki.

What you will do

• Own frontend development of consumer-facing web products from architecture and design decisions through production delivery.
• Build and continuously improve maintainable, scalable React/TypeScript applications handling real financial transactions.
• Own application architecture, performance, reliability, monitoring, observability, and rapid production incident response.
• Set technical standards through code reviews, architectural discussions, mentoring, and cross-team collaboration with Frontend, Backend, and Platform teams.
• Partner with Backend engineers on API design, data flow, and performance, and occasionally contribute Java backend code to unblock delivery.
• Collaborate with Product and Design from discovery through delivery while maintaining high standards for unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building production React/TypeScript web applications.
• Strong ownership, initiative, and ability to identify and solve problems independently.
• Comfort working across the stack, including reading Java code when required.
• Experience with modern React patterns, including state management such as Redux, Zustand, or similar; performance optimisation; testing; and component architecture.
• Experience working in a product team and balancing feature velocity with technical quality.
• Ability to write maintainable, understandable, and extensible code.
• Clear communication in code reviews, design discussions, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Professional working proficiency in English.

Nice to have

• React Native experience.
• Hands-on backend experience with Node.js or Java/Spring, especially ownership of an API layer or BFF.
• Fintech, payments, or regulated-product experience.
• Experience with micro-frontend architectures, CI/CD pipelines, or design systems.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows.
