Research & Development Industrial Placement 2027

Location: Reading Innovation Centre, Reading, United Kingdom. On-site 12-month industrial placement from 5 July 2027 to 30 June 2028; 6-month placements may be available depending on course requirements and business needs.

Salary: £31,500 per year for the 12-month placement.

Procter & Gamble develops and manufactures consumer products across Personal Health Care, Oral Care, Grooming, and Beauty Care.

What you will do

• Work on live business research and development projects from the start of the placement.
• Develop and evaluate consumer products using scientific methods, hands-on laboratories, and pilot plants.
• Contribute to innovation across brands including Vicks, Oral-B, Gillette, Venus, and Olay.
• Take responsibility for defined projects and real business challenges.
• Work with experienced scientists, engineers, managers, and mentors.

Requirements

• Must have the right to work in the UK for the full placement period without requiring sponsorship from Procter & Gamble.
• For the 12-month placement, be a university student in a scientific or engineering discipline graduating in 2029 with a placement year included in the degree.
• Students graduating in 2027 or 2028, and recent graduates, may be considered for available 6-month placements.
• Demonstrate leadership skills, achievement in academic or non-academic activities, and a strong interest in research and innovation.
• Strong written and verbal English language skills.
