Workshop and Facilities Technician (Robotics)

hirify.global is a Series A robotics start-up developing autonomous construction machines through learning-based automation, augmented remote control, and custom hardware.

What you will do

• Own the mechanical workshop, including layout, storage, tools, cleanliness, and safety.
• Procure, calibrate, service, repair, and manage workshop tools, machines, and measurement instruments.
• Handle installations, furniture moves, mounting, repairs, small builds, and workshop reconfigurations.
• Coordinate contractors working on ventilation, electrical systems, HVAC, and larger facility projects; brief them, inspect their work, and sign it off.
• Support production engineers with assembly, testing, final inspection, kitting, incoming inspection, rework, and assembly documentation.
• Pack and crate heavy or sensitive hardware, receive incoming goods, and route shipments.

Requirements

• Polymechaniker EFZ or an equivalent qualification such as Automatiker EFZ, Anlagen- und Apparatebauer EFZ, or Konstrukteur EFZ; comparable practical experience is also considered.
• At least 3 years of experience in a workshop, fabrication shop, or comparable environment.
• Practical skills with bandsaws, drill presses, angle grinders, layout, and measurement.
• Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Category B driving licence and comfort using inventory lists, supplier portals, ticket queues, and email.
• Good command of German and English required.

Nice to have

• Experience in prototype, R&D, or serial production environments.
• Basic CAD experience and familiarity with ERP or inventory systems.
• MIG/MAG/TIG welding, sheet metal work, painting, and surface preparation.
• Hand soldering experience.
