What you will do

• Own motor-controller and DC-DC power-stage architecture across fixed-wing, multicopter, and hybrid UXV platforms.
• Design MOSFET commutation, gate drivers, three-phase BLDC inverters, current sensing, protection, and FOC-aware hardware interfaces.
• Develop schematics and PCB layouts in Altium or KiCad, engineering thermal performance, parasitics, and EMC into high-power-density PCBAs.
• Run analytical, SPICE, PLECS, or Simulink simulations and validate results through bench testing, double-pulse testing, oscilloscopes, power analysers, and thermal imaging.
• Lead EMI/EMC pre-compliance, filter design, root-cause debugging, DFM, qualification, and field-return feedback from prototype to production.
• Partner with embedded and propulsion teams on FOC tuning, current-sense calibration, hardware/firmware interfaces, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or an equivalent field.
• At least 5 years of hands-on R&D experience with motor drives, BLDC/PMSM controllers, or high-power-density power electronics.
• Deep expertise in MOSFET commutation, gate-driver selection, dead-time tuning, switching transitions, and loss budgeting.
• Experience shipping at least one motor-controller PCBA from prototype through production or pre-production qualification.
• Fluency in simulation tools such as LTspice, PLECS, or Simulink, and PCB design with Altium.
• Fluent English is required as the working language; French is optional.

Nice to have

• GaN or SiC experience.
• Safety-critical design and applied control theory implemented in hardware.
• Experience in defense, aerospace, UAS, drone, robotics, eVTOL, or automotive programs.
