Senior HR/People Operations Specialist

Location: Lisbon, Portugal; hybrid 50/50 model. The role supports employees in Portugal and the UK. Working from another location is available for up to 60 days per year depending on the role.

What you will do

• Serve as the first point of contact for employees, People Partners, authorities, and external providers on contracts, benefits, and employee lifecycle administration.
• Support end-to-end payroll preparation, validation, provider coordination, and employee payroll queries.
• Manage onboarding, offboarding, contracts, documentation, references, and related process improvements.
• Maintain accurate employee data and personnel records in Workday and other HR systems.
• Ensure compliance with Portuguese employment law and internal policies, partnering with Legal when needed.
• Optimize and automate People Operations processes and collaborate with HRBP, Payroll, Legal, Recruitment, and global People Operations teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in HR Administration, People Operations, or HR Shared Services, preferably in an international and fast-growing environment.
• Degree in Human Resources, Economics, Psychology, Social Sciences, Pedagogics, or a related field.
• Solid knowledge of Portuguese labour law is required.
• Hands-on experience with HRIS/HRMS systems; Workday experience is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of payroll preparation, validation, and coordination with external payroll providers.
• Fluent Portuguese and English, written and spoken, are required.
