Student (Hardware Engineering) – Optical Transport (Telecommunications Hardware): Supporting the design, bring-up, testing, and production of hardware controller modules for telecom systems with an accent on analog and digital electronics, PCB development, and laboratory debugging. Focus on learning schematic capture, validating boards with professional lab equipment, documenting test results, and investigating hardware issues under experienced mentorship.
Location: Gdynia, Poland; at least 20 hours per week in the Gdynia office
Salary: 6,000 PLN per month for a full-time position

What you will do
- Support schematic capture, design reviews, and PCB layout guidance for hardware controller modules.
- Participate in board bring-up and debugging with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and power supplies.
- Write and execute hardware and integration test cases, record results, and report issues.
- Research components using datasheets and assess alternatives, availability, and lifecycle status.
- Contribute to hardware specifications, test reports, and production test documentation.
- Support PCB production testing and collaborate with Systems Engineering, FPGA, Mechanics, Software, and Operations teams.
Requirements
- Third-year student of Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Automation and Robotics, or a related field.
- Availability to work at least 20 hours per week onsite in the Gdynia office.
- Understanding of analog and digital circuits, including passive components, transistors, power supplies, logic, and I2C, SPI, and UART buses.
- Basic knowledge of microcontroller or microprocessor systems, memory, and peripheral interfaces.
- Experience with an EDA tool such as KiCad, Altium, OrCAD, or Eagle, including reading and drawing schematics.
- Basic laboratory and soldering skills; English at B2 level or higher for reading datasheets and communicating with colleagues.
Nice to have
- Personal hardware projects, student science club participation, or contest team experience.
- Embedded C/C++ on microcontrollers such as STM32, AVR, ESP32, or Raspberry Pi Pico.
- VHDL, Verilog, FPGA, or CPLD knowledge.
- Signal integrity, DDR memory, DC/DC converter design, telecom standards, EMC, or Python for test automation and data analysis.
