Head of Health Economics & Market Access, Surgery - Germany

Location: Norderstedt, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany; preferred location: Hamburg, Germany

Base pay: €110,500–€175,375 annually, plus an annual bonus or sales commissions.

What you will do

• Lead the Germany Health Economics & Market Access department, setting its vision, operating model, priorities, budget, and resource allocation.
• Build and develop a high-performing team through coaching, delegation, performance management, and succession planning.
• Develop and execute market access, reimbursement, evidence-generation, and market-development strategies for the Surgery portfolio.
• Advise Germany leadership on portfolio, investment, evidence, commercial, risk, and strategic decisions.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration across Commercial, Medical, Clinical, Regulatory, and Finance teams.
• Represent the organization with payers, healthcare leaders, professional societies, governmental bodies, and priority customers.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in health economics, health policy, public health, economics, healthcare management, epidemiology, outcomes research, or a related discipline.
• Deep expertise in HTA, health economics, reimbursement, and market access, including the ability to translate evidence into strategic business decisions.
• At least 7 years of progressive relevant experience; 10 years is preferred, including substantial senior strategic experience.
• Expert understanding of the German healthcare system, payer landscape, funding pathways, procurement environment, and policy developments.
• Proven people-leadership experience and the ability to lead through influence across a senior cross-functional matrix.
• Strong communication, executive presence, portfolio governance, evidence synthesis, and strategic decision-making skills.

Nice to have

• Previous MedTech and German market experience.
• Experience engaging with payers and using healthcare system database sources.
• Experience developing business cases, value briefs, value propositions, reimbursement information, and HTA materials.
• Experience addressing complex market access challenges and synthesizing clinical, epidemiological, real-world, and health-economic evidence.
