Senior Kotlin / Java Software Engineer - Banking Platform (Fintech)

Location: Munich or Berlin, Germany; office-based role

What you will do

• Build a new banking platform using modern software development practices.
• Translate business challenges into scalable technical solutions.
• Design and implement interfaces connecting the platform with major financial-industry partners.
• Work with software engineers and academics to develop services for the financial industry.

Requirements

• Relevant university degree or comparable qualification.
• Professional experience with Kotlin, Docker, Spring Boot, cloud infrastructure, and event-based asynchronous architectures.
• Experience designing loosely coupled, scalable architectures and RESTful APIs.
• Knowledge of modern development practices, including continuous integration and deployment, test automation, and agile team collaboration.
• Strong analytical thinking and clear communication with engineering, product, and other stakeholders.
• Passion for well-architected, testable, and documented code.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, Terraform, Python, or GraphQL.
• Background in financial services.
