Lead Data Scientist (PropTech)

What you will do

• Lead the design and implementation of advanced predictive models using statistical and machine learning techniques.
• Own the full model lifecycle from research and prototyping through deployment into robust, scalable production pipelines.
• Set technical direction for core data products and an ambitious new data platform.
• Mentor data scientists and raise technical standards across the team.
• Partner with Product, Sales, and Leadership to translate business needs into analytical solutions.
• Establish best practices for model development, validation, and maintenance.

Requirements

• Typically 8+ years of experience developing and deploying high-impact machine learning models in commercial environments.
• Expert knowledge of statistical analysis, predictive modelling, and ensemble techniques such as Gradient Boosted Trees and Random Forests.
• Strong Python proficiency for data science, including Pandas, Scikit-Learn, XGBoost, or LightGBM, plus SQL.
• Experience working with very large, complex, and messy datasets.
• Proven technical leadership, mentoring, and ownership of complex projects.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and influence strategic decisions.

Nice to have

• Experience in PropTech, FinTech, financial services, or lending.
• Hands-on experience developing or deploying Automated Valuation Models for the property market.
• Experience with geospatial data.
• Knowledge of model validation, performance benchmarking, and compliance metrics in regulated industries.
