Electric Power Technical Support Representative (Electric Power)

Location: Johannesburg, South Africa; approximately 50% travel required.

What you will do

• Provide technical support to dealers resolving customer issues involving diesel and gas generator sets, rental power solutions, hybrid systems, and power generation products.
• Develop dealer capabilities in servicing, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair through collaboration with subject matter experts and Dealer Services Development teams.
• Partner with dealers on commercial solutions for support cases outside standard warranty coverage.
• Support parts and service sales growth, aftermarket performance, service programs, digital solutions, and preventive maintenance initiatives.
• Capture customer feedback and communicate it to product, engineering, manufacturing, and aftersales teams to support continuous improvement.
• Build relationships with dealers and customers and participate in conferences, dealer meetings, training events, customer days, and trade shows.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in electric power generation, power systems, industrial or heavy equipment, or a related technical support environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of diesel and gas generator sets, power generation systems, and associated controls.
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues and working directly with customers, dealers, distributors, or service organizations.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, customer-facing, problem-solving, and relationship-management skills.
• Ability to work independently across a geographically dispersed territory and proficiency with Microsoft Office and technical reporting systems.
