Support Analyst (SQL)

Location: Cape Town, South Africa office; hybrid model with 3 days working from home per week. The role follows North American working hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST and observes North American national holidays.

What you will do

• Write, troubleshoot, review, and optimise SQL queries, scripts, and PL/SQL code for client issues.
• Analyse complex database and data-related problems, including data integrity and database structure issues.
• Act as a technical escalation point and perform detailed root cause analysis for advanced application support cases.
• Work with clients to gather requirements and translate them into SQL-based solutions.
• Deliver against SLAs and KPIs, contribute to technical documentation, and participate in UAT.
• Mentor junior analysts in SQL development and debugging approaches.

Requirements

• 4–6+ years of experience in application or technical support within enterprise software.
• Strong practical experience writing complex SQL queries from scratch and solving business problems with SQL.
• Hands-on Oracle PL/SQL experience, including stored procedures, triggers, and packages.
• Experience with query performance tuning, indexes, execution plans, relational database design, and large datasets.
• Strong structured problem-solving and communication skills for explaining technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
• Fluent English and availability for North American working hours are required.
